RDF Wins Excellence in Journalism Award from the NY Association of Black Journalists

(New York, NY) Freelance writer and author Renee Daniel Flagler, was awarded for Excellence in Journalism by the New York Association of Black Journalists (NYABJ). The awards were presented during the NYABJ Annual Scholarship and Awards Dinner on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Columbia University in the Low Library Rotunda at 6pm.

“I am completely honored by this award. Being recognized by NYABJ in this manor is the highlight of my writing career thus far,” said Renee Flagler, who has written for several print and online publications. Flagler was nominated for an article she penned for The Network Journal Magazine about disparities within the publishing landscape as it pertains to the black book market. “I was honored to hear that we were nominated for this prestigious award,” said Rosalind Kilkenny McLymont, an award winning journalist, author, NYABJ winner and Editor-In-Chief for The Network Journal, a magazine edited for black professionals.

This year’s event will be hosted by WABC's Sade Baderinwa & WCBS' Maurice Dubois. During the annual gala, NYABJ recognizes the best in Print, New Media, Radio, Magazine and Television reporting of issues that affect the Black Diaspora.
